    Canon ir 2016 - e003 error

Hi all. I have this problem with a Canon ir 2016. I changed the fixing film, and after about 2 days, it started giving e003 error. I'm really confused about one thing. The connector from the fixing film assy and the power supply really seems to not make perfect contact. I'm sorry about my explanation or my english, so i attached a photo of the gap that doesn't seem right. Please feel free to give any advice about how i can fix this problem. Thanks

Just the fixing film. The old one was broken. And i'm not sure if the e003 error is caused by an imperfect contact, if that is the case in the picture i attached.

I know changing the fixing film assy would solve my problem, but i am trying to fix mine. How about the photo i posted? Does that connector go all the way on the "+" of the assy or that gap in the photo must be there? If this isn't the problem, i am planning to clean the fixing film assy again and change the vaseline. Waiting for your ideas.

Usually vaseline is used for "OTHER KIND" of fixing units, but you can try ...

Siliconic vaseline MUST be used. Otherwise, the film may not rotate or it's lifespan will be very short. I'll rebuild the fuser one more time today and hope all goes well. Thank you all for your advice. It helped.

Hi all. First of all, thank you for your support. Second, i found the problem. It was an imperfect contact (the one showed in the photo in the attachement) and it cracked my heating element. Teckat, thanks for the part numbers, but here in romania, the fixing assy costs about 600 euros. So it's very expensive. I found just the heating element at about 40 euros. Thank you all again for your repplies.
