    E020 0491 ON IRADV 5035

    Hi All,

have this problem with bk dev, there's very little tone left in it( copies v light then you get this code). I'm not familiar with with this range but i checked the toner bottle and that the dev was turning. I've ordered a new dev but not sure if there is a fault with toner being added. Has anyone had problems with hopper units drive clutchs/motors or the like that could cause this? Would be greatfull for any tips.

    Thanks

Most common issue with those devs is the drive coupling on the dev side ( black cross shaped coupling held on with an integrated "clip" ) to crack or split or the clip to fail causing it to spin sometimes.
They are now replaced with one with a pin through it ( although it looks no more substantial than the original item )

Apart from that, any I have replaced have been for PCQ issues.

Your Customer is pretty accommodating, if it mine region, they will go ape & start throwing anything they lay hands on it.

The other thing to check would be modification on the main body (the part that connect the dev 's drive coupling). The original drive coupling is black with just plastic clip; then came material that was so-called strengthen at cross area but still clip; last was what you see, white with pin in it.
