Re: ir 3235 fixi9ng flim problem
I have a ir3245 with the same situation.
It is the 3-rd fixing film now.
Metal plates are perfectly balanced, back screws are not stripped.
New film (oem), new pressure roller + bushing + everything.
Alignment plates are perfectly aligned in the machine.
I kept an eye for like 4-500 pages it was ok.
After 20.000 copies it tears at the front. WTF.....
Customer's color is RED like Popeye after eating spinach @@@
I did cut off the film, cheated the door and watched the moving forward.
I did (on purpose) release pressure on the back screw - than added pressure on back screw.
The result is always the same. The film moves forward.
I am afraid to do that back side modification on the body of the machine...on the other hand don't know what else to do.
I am afraid that if I order new fixing unit - it might behave the same.
Ideas ???

Re: ir 3235 fixi9ng flim problem
Hello V-P
Until now I made more than 20 modificated console, and maybe 1 doesn't solved the problem.
If the fixing unit with this modification became noisy you have to pull out on the back side a bit, to increase the distance of the drive and driven gears.
I used a 2,5 and after a 3,5 mm drill bit, with a drill stand.
On the other hand, you have nothing to loose, this is a reversible process.
Good Luck
