if I remeber correctly I think you need to change FXMSG-SW to a 0 then power cycle the machine. Are your fixing rollers getting flat spots on them at all?
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.
charm is right,if your rollers have flats then swop them out.they will give you all sorts of problems.there is a secondary counter for the ufr under counter>misc>FX-UP-RL.
To help prevent the premature deformation of the Upper Fuser Roller is to change the setting of FX-CROT in service mode. The default setting for FX-CROT is set to 0.
Try Changing the setting from 0 to >> 3.
Enter service mode level 1 (* 2 8 *), select Copier > Options > Body > FX-CROT and change setting accordingly.

E070
Sensor reflectors on the inside of the ITB become dirty and do not reflect the light properly from the home position sensors.
Note* - If the equipment is not properly serviced, in regard to filters, the equipment filters can clog up and cause stray toner to build up in the ventilation area. If this occurs, there is a chance that HVT2 can become contaminated and copy quality issues will occur.
Additionally, soiling the white ITB patch may also occur causing E070 error code.
Solution :
Clean the reflective surface inside the ITB or replace ITB.
In regards to filters - Be sure ALL 6 Filters are replaced and/or cleaned at it's proper intervals. If ALL 6 filters are not addressed, poor ventilation will occur and toner can contaminate HVT2. If contamination of HVT2 happens replace HVT2.
HVT2 = FM2-0528-000
ITB = FC5-1658-000

Hello Everyone,
I also am having the e070-01 error on a 5870. I had a new ITB so plopped it in with the existing belt which looked fine. Cleaned HP patches.
Same error.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
