Canon IR C3200 - Control Unit

I have this machine that is hooked up over a network. Recently I have had a problem getting the printer to respond when I print something to it and now it won't at all. It has the controller unit hooked to the back of the printer and the diagnostic lights are 3 out of 4 red.

I don't use this printer every day so its not extremely critical. I always print to this printer from a single desktop computer. Should I try to fix the control unit? Will the printer operate without it? How would I go about hooking a single computer to print to this unit off the network?

Any thoughts or ideas will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the information, I did manage to get the Service Manual for the C-1, so I'll get into that tomorrow.

The C-1 is required to print from a computer to the printer isn't it? Otherwise its just a copy machine. I just want to make sure I've got this right in my thinking.

    Thanks!
