iR2520. display message: insert drum.

I can't understand how machine checks is drum inside or no? I looked for sensor in service manual, but i do not see special sensor for it. If somebody can explane what is symbol of sensor in SM, or were it placed? Thanks!

The message "Insert Drum" is on the display, however, the drum is correctly inserted in the machine. The drum unit had been replaced and the high voltage contacts were clean and not deformed in any way. An "All Clear" was performed as well to no avail.

Workaround :
In this case, replacing the H.V.T. resolved the issue.

This error appear if drum bias not contact correctly to contact point of drum (you can see contact point of drum: open drum cartridge, see at the back of drum, there is a leaf spring inside the hole, pull out with a little force). ussually this error come up when replace individual drum not unit. when drum turn, ussually drum will shift to the front leading to poor contact of drum bias. I myself use a small washer with approx 0.8mm to keep drum bias.

Try updating DC CON firmware to latest version. I have solved 10 so far by updating firmware. It changes the threshold for the bias so it will not error out.

The only problem that I get with this error, is caused by the back bushing that worn out and causes the drum to shift out of its position.To get a new bushing for the drum is like impossible.I have 3d printed n new one that you fit in front of the drum over the shaft.IF you are interested in buying them.
