    iR 2880i E00045-0000

Machine was throwing this code and I was able to get it to work by pressing in on the bottom of the door, so I checked the door and found a bent hinge and broken pivot. After replacing them it started to work until I opened and closed the door, then it coded out. I've spent a couple of hours adjusting the OHP sensor and reflector with no luck. Using a digital camera as per the tech pub I can see the sensor emitting at initial rotation. I'm considering replacing the door, but maybe I'm missing something? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Are you talking about front or right door?

I've seen this problem several times. If you can't adjust that door it must be twisted beyond repair, replacing it is the only option!

Make sure the reflector (on the copier side) is not knocked out, and you CAN install it upside down which will cause E045.....did that before as well~!

You mean the sensor on the machine side right? The reflector is in the door. You've replaced a door before?

I always thought 045 meant the sensor in the machine.

There is a screw in the hinge area that you replaced that strips the thread in the door. Common issue on this model. You can often verify this by pressing on the door and looking for movement. This stripped thread can also cause the manual feed to malfunction.

Usually the sensor in the door could be dirty or blocked somehow, but the common culprit is the reflector in the machine side gets knocked out.

Yeah I've had to replace the door before for this, they are crap and get twisted easily!

Measures against increased load at closing the right door

    door.JPG

The largest force for the operation of closing the right door is required at shutting the door at the end. This force
of shutting the door is similar regardless of with and without the right door pressure aux. unit . Therefore, there
is no negative effect by discontinuing the use of the right door pressure aux. unit . One side of the right door
may not close without the right door pressure aux. unit , however, there is no problem because the door
    detection function generates recovery message.

    Servicing Work:

    If the above symptom occurs, perform the following step 1 and 2;
1.Detach the right door pressure aux. unit (FM3-0008) [1].
2.Remove the parts a, b, c from the detached right door pressure aux. unit (FM3-0008) [1] and then attach the unit
    to the machine again.
    a.Arm press plate (FC7-6990-000)
    b.Arm link plate (FL2-4482-000)
    c.M10 stepped screw (FU5-9350-000)
These 3 parts maintain the strength of the machine.

    The operation procedure is attached.
