I have a machine thats 2 hrs away and I've been on site to clean patch sensor and reseat processing unit items. It worked for about 9 days then gave me the error again E020-0104. If the shutter drive ass,y was damaged as suggested in this tech pub would the error be showing up every 5-9 days after reboot or more consistent. Currently if you reboot the machine it will work for days then error E020-0104. I was thinking may be the blk drum then I found this thread with the tech pub. just trying to save trips because every visit I have to wait to see if it will error again days later. Any suggestions?

Patch Shutter Linkage.
The linkage transfers the movement of SL1 to the Patch shutter. If the Patch Shutter is not opened during certain Image Stabilization Controls, an incorrect Patch Sensor reading will occur and cause the E020.



The Shutter Linkage does not have a part number.
You must order the Pattern Read Shutter Drive Assembly FM3-8902-000
See FIG. 321 of the Parts Catalog


check the shutter for cracks
also check for a broken slide pin ,that goes into SL1 for the Pattern Read Drive Assembly.

Replace patch sensor unit and black drum.

Part numbers as follows: Patch Sensor Unit =FM3-5944-010, GPR-30 Black Drum - 2776B004BA, GPR-31
Black Drum - 2778B004BA

Initialization of patch sensor is necessary. COPIER>OPTION>IMG-MCON>P-ALPHA>Input Patch Sensor alpha value.

I have a IRC ADV 5045 that the customer installed the wrong toner btl. Close match GPR-31 vs GPR-30 now the machine wont come out of an E025-0410 error.. Any reset you know of ?
