    Re: How do you rank Canon, Xerox, Ricoh and Konica?

    After 25 years and working on Ricoh, Kodak, Canon, and some Xerox, I am leaning towards Ricoh (on the production side).
    IBM would resell IBM logoed Ricoh and Kodak boxes for years. I found the Ricoh production machines ran very well if PM
    was kept up. We had customers running some of the 90-135 ppm upwards of 30-40 million and ran well. The key is PM.

    imagePress6000/7000 series contracted customers receive 24 hour service w/a three hour responce window-

    XEROX could not come close to that service time
    Speaking for my territory up here. We've lost a couple machines to the qube's. I'm a canon guy straight up but for business colour nothing can touch the qube in terms of cost per copy. Again speaking of my territory, the only customers who are anal regarding perfect copy quality is one print shop. I did quit xerox to return to canon though :-) Less board changing for nothing

    I've been servicing copiers since 1973 when everything was liquid toner. I have worked on Canon,Mita,Minolta,Ricoh,Sharp etc and they all have made a very good copier as well as a bad one. To me nothing comes close to Canon for black and white for quality of the image, they have smooth edges of the letters have excellent half tones. Canon invented and manufactures the all in one cartridge system that HP uses and has been the standard for over 30 years for black and white print quality.

    I most certainly agree. I currently work on Ricoh machines along with Canon and, by far, prefer Canon above all else. I have been a Canon tech since 1995 and so I do have some experience with them.

    I'm amazed to hear how poor the Xerox service is in the US and Europe. 'Fuji Xerox' has excellent customer service, they're well known in the Asia-Pacific region for it. In major Australian cities you can get a FX tech out out within a working day, but that could be because they work directly for FX and not a smaller dealer.

    Re: How do you rank Canon, Xerox, Ricoh and Konica?

    I have worked on canon,Gestetner,mita,ricoh,xerox , konica and of recent kyocera mita and came up with the following analysis;
    Canon machines have proved to be very good in quality,cost effective and user friendly in black and white.
    Konica copiers have proved to good in colour copying due the high quality in the prints and being cost effective.
    The most conservative company in copier technology is Xerox.
    Of recent kyocera mita has improved in copy quality but with very high maintanance costs.

    well i gotta agree with him over here on bigger machines you only see canon and a couple of old xerox models (over 10 years) that won't be changed because of the price they had, all major companies banks and government parts use canon's
