This discussion does not make sense.

Being published in the forum "Canon" it is obvious that everyone appreciates Canon, since they work there.

Canon machines for the most part have good built quality and the software eco system is very mature and stable (everything just works).
Print quality is solid and consistent, most parts easily surpass their rated yields and they are pretty easy machines to work on and service.

Also Sharp is quite good as well, they do use a lot more plastic and thinner sheet metal so build quality is lighter and cheaper, but they seam to run pretty well never the less.

It pains me to say it but Ricoh have gone down hill since switching to Android panels, so many software bugs and integration problems, build quality isn't great, lot of parts easily break, prematurely wear and have problems reaching yield.

EVERY manufacturer has their, "Dear Copier Manufacturer.... What in Heaven's name were you THINKING?" moments....

That said, as far as ease of repairs, this has been my experience ....

    1. Canon
    2. Savin/Ricoh
    3. Sharp
    27. Konica Minolta (Not a fan....)

    Image quality...

    1. Canon
    2. Konica
    3. Savin/Ricoh
    4. Sharp

    Cost.....

    1. I'm
    2. Just
    3. A
    4. Tech

....I leave pricing question to the people that make way more money than me.

To me nothing comes close to Canon for black and white for quality of the image, they have smooth edges of the letters have excellent half tones. Canon invented and manufactures the all in one cartridge system that HP uses and has been the standard for over 30 years for black and white print quality.
The only wet process plain paper machines I remember seeing was Savin and Saxon. Yes I have lived a sheltered life.
