Set up network for ir3200 with fiery help please

    Hello everyone,

would anyone please give an instruction how to set up network for Canon IRC3200 with Fiery.

I been set up without Fiery many times. But this is the first time I deal with fiery.

I know that we have to change from 0 to 3 for IMG-CONT then restart. What is the next step should I do.

    Thanks

    Hey Century,

It's not that different from the normal set. You connect the Fiery to Printer through the the RJ-45 port and the connect then Fiery to your Network Jack. Connect the Video cable from the Fiery to the Printer. As you said, in Level 2 service mode, change Copier>Option>IMG-CONT to 3. Power off both units. Power on Fiery and then the iRC3200. You don't have to setup Network Configuration on the Printer. When the printer has booted, you'll have an extra Icon that says Option or Print. It will be on the far right side of the display. Select Option/Print and wait for the Fiery to become Idle. Then from the functions menu, select the setup Icon. Follow the prompts from there and setup all the IP info. When you load print drivers to the computers, you must use the C1-imagePass driver. You can download it from the Canon site.

I don't have a machine in front of me so I can't give you step by step instuction, but this will get you there.

Good luck and let us know how you make out.

Yes, if your Boot ROM is an "N" Version, which designates it as a Printer. If your Boot ROM Version is a "C", then you have a stand alone Color Copier which can also be used as a Network Scanner. If the machine is a printer you can set it up on your network as a Network Printer.

                Hi, Copier_Guy
Thank you so much for your reply. Your instruction is very clear and useful. How can I change the Boot Rom from "C" to "N"? Use SST to flash it or have to buy one because it is a ROM?
                Thanks again

The tried and true way is to buy a printer kit from Canon or one of the third party organizations that offer these units.

There are other companies out there that claim to have a kit where you can re-program the Boot-ROM, but I have yet to see one that actually works.
