TIME is MONEY in this field
but as stated> your best bet is to replace unit

i know this is an old thread, but i've had two machines with this problem recently & thought i'd share my remedy for future reference
from what i understand this code actually refers to the fuser not moving at the same speed as the machine, though this actual code was not listed in the service manual (iRC5180/5180i/4580/4580i/4080/4080i/3880 CLC5151/4040/4080i)
on both machines, i found there are two worn straight-cut hardened gears deep inside, on the copier front-side of the fuser unit, between the upper & lower belt assemblies,, which drive the lower belt assembly from the upper belt shaft (you will not see these gears in any parts diagram)
i dismantled the entire fuser unit (an hour +), removed both belt assemblies, removed & reversed the 2 worn gears applying liberal high temp lithium grease, then reassembled & refitted the fuser - this got the machine up and running in around 2.5 hrs to the great relief of my client
seeing everything else in these fusers looked kinda like new (shiny unwrinkled belts), i had 4 gears cut & hardened by a local engineering firm (using a gear i removed from an old fuser unit) which cost me $90.00 each & then went through the entire process again to fit the new gears - heck of alot cheaper than 2 new fuser units
NOTE - this is not a job for your standard copier tech, i have 30+ yrs experience (mechanical, electrical & electronics to component level), 18 yrs in business for myself & i also subcontract to top end manufacturers when their guys run into problems - that being said, a GOOD tech,, with patience and great care, can do this job and have the machine up and running again in approx 3 hrs

Good Information
Now Post the pictures & exact location of these mystery gearsI have worked on hundreds of these units/ also once had to maintain a major account that had 130 in one building.
The reason we don't fuss with these units is because in a fast paced high end customers location> u don't normally have the time and space to break down this unit to do a visual inspect on site--
another reason is there are small gears on side assembly's that have their teeth edges broken (some not visible until removal).
U also have the cases of a upper torn belt - or fried sensor surfaces-
we keep these units in stock for a same day delivery response repair/ pop out>pop it

Both of you (aAandy & teckat), have valid points. Talk of workshop versus field repair, as well as time factor. Then there's the type of client as well as the money factor.
Please Post the pictures & exact location of these mystery gears
plus pics of your cut stamped replacements

I have fixed this error on the Canon iR C4080.
Error Code 000007-0211 means the lower fuser belt is not centered and to the left.
Error Code 000007-0201 means the lower fuser belt is not centered and to the right.
