Shading adjust can cause this. So can developing, if you have a scrap of paper or some other contaminant in the developing unit.

I have tried different drum and dev unit as in the past had odd problems down to dev roller what I'm trying to avoid is buying a scrapper just to swap boards fibre optis etc.

Transfer roller? Remove and clean with cold water.

Since you eliminated the drum & dev (most common for light areas), transfer roller may be the issue. If not, that leaves the image unit (not likely) and the fuser - but my limited exp is fusers leave dark or "flaky" areas - not light.

light band

Check the laser unit, if the laser unit shield glass is dirty it will cause light copy/print.
