Anyone out there able to help on PS-NX800 (same box as PS-NX3000).
Only shows BIOS on boot. H/Disk appears OK (mounted on PC).
Was perfectly OK - booted up to idle fine - shut down & turned on again four weeks later - then this.
Surely not M/Board??

A little embarrased actually. I do not have any technical info on this RIP, so spent yesterday afternoon reading up on PS-NX3000 (for 3200 series), as unit appears virtually the same. Managed to deduce that my employee that cleaned the unit had left the CPU connector (J2) unplugged - problem over.
I do not have System Software for this unit - and have had problems in past trying to find a reliable way to 'clone' the Fiery drives. Issues relating to drive size mismatches possibly. If it helps anyone to know then I can clone a drive using Acronis (usually a larger drive which Acronis 'expands' onto), then Fiery will boot OK, but will not successfully perform a 'system restore'. Am thinking to generate an 'ISO' image of a drive and try that.
If anyone has got either/both NX800 system software, and a Fiery Diagnostic software (for NX 600 upwards), then I am happy to share whatever I have that may be useful (but only up to approx. 2008).
p.s. Am I the only person left running CLC900!!! - Anyone impressed?? -
p.p.s. Have Canon produced a machine that comes close to 1100 quality/versatility(materials)??
I never want to ever see a CLC900 & it's 80 + tech pubs on issuesp.s. Am I the only person left running CLC900!!! - Anyone impressed?? -
and that includes the CLC1100 series and it's tech pubs on issues>p.p.s. Have Canon produced a machine that comes close to 1100 quality/versatility(materials)??
quality/versatility(materials) that does not describe a printer of this nature when customers who purchased it originally abused it's recommended usage.
i would charge 500.00 per hour to service this thing>if forced to (if i ever need milk money)

Hi,
Thanks for the reply, but am not entirely understanding your answer.
Pls - am new - have I posted on the wrong forum catergory??
Ref:-Canon CLC (900 or 1100 series) - I was asking if Canon have a more recent colour machine that can be used in a wide range of uses.
I am running up to 350gsm pulp card, and even textured card up to 300gsm, (even d/sided), along with a range of other substrates (heat transfer papers, vinyls etc).
The reason I ask is because I have not heard of any Canon model that comes close (Yes - speed is damn slow, but versatility is my main issue)
I email old friends that are still engaged in servicing in UK, and concensus seems to be that 3200/3260/4040/5151 models are not necessarily any better, although obviously faster.
(Servicing is not too much problem - I still understand the basics - getting a sheet of paper from one end to the other with toner on it).
Maybe you guys can put me right?
Do I consider Konica/Minolta bizhubs?
p.s. Where I am is somewhere that Canon have not landed yet - honest
