[Misc] Legal Paper Settings

One of our customer is using IR2318L with DADF & Duplex. They want to make 2 Side copy of Legal Paper Documents from Bypass tray. is it possible? kindly help me. Thanks

That model has Optional Automatic Duplexing. If you have the option it should be fine from the bypass or the cassettes. If not, then I guess you are reduced to making a copy , flipping it over and send it thru again for side 2 copy.

Automatic Duplex unit is attached with this particular machine. but still 2 side copy option is in disabled mode.

Is it possible to make 2 sided copies from the cassette or is that disabled also?

thanks teckat for info, but after set the stack bypass on, still 2 side copy option is disabled. any service mode settings need to do?

can u 2 side legal in bypass from PC > using selection in print driver ?
Enables you to select [Paper Source] or [Paper Type] for the selection method.
To perform 2-Sided Printing from a computer that is connected to the machine with a USB cable, you must enable the optional Duplex Unit-A1 from the printer driver.

so your option to select 2 side when using DF legal docs in combo with legal paper in bypass is not available on screen ??? or grayed out ?

is this option available by using glass doc in book mode >to legal in bypass



Additional Functions
Printer Settings

Press (Additional Functions).
Scroll to select <Printer Settings> press [OK].

select 2-Sided*==You can make the default 2-Sided mode settings.

Use or to select the setting item you want to change press [OK].
When you have finished making the settings, press (Reset).

You can set whether the printing speed is the priority for your job, or whether to print on a specific side of the paper.
This setting is useful when you want to make
one- or two-sided prints on pre-printed paper (paper which has logos or patterns already printed on it) without changing the orientation of the paper loaded in a paper source.

Details of each item are as follows:
<Speed Priority>
When you feed one- or two-sided prints into the machine, the method for delivering paper inside the machine changes, which affects the printing speed. To maximize the printing speed, load the paper manually as follows:
-One-Sided Print
Load the paper face up into a paper drawer, or face down into the stack bypass. The side facing up in the paper drawer, and the side facing down in the stack bypass,
are the sides printed on.
-Two-Sided Print
Load the paper face down into a paper drawer, or face up into the stack bypass. The side facing down in the paper drawer, and the side facing up in the stack bypass,
are the first sides that are printed on.
<Print Side>
If you load paper into the paper drawer and select <Print Side>, no matter whether you are printing one- or two-sided prints, the side of the paper facing down is always the one printed on first. (The side facing up is the one printed on first for the stack bypass.)
However, some speed will be sacrificed when printing one-sided prints.
If <Print Side> is selected for a paper source, and <Auto Drawer Select> in Common Settings (from the Additional Functions menu) is set to ‘On’, the Auto Paper Selection
(APS) and Auto Drawer Switching (ADS) functions are ignored. Printing may also become slower when you print one-sided documents.
The selected mode is set.

I can copy, print 2 sided in A4, A3 & Legal paper from drawer1. Just problem with legal size paper (340 x 220) from stack Bypass.

what does the printer say when u place LGL in bypass ?

1-will it recognize the size for regular printing
2- what happens if u select to print from Bypass in Network in Print Driver on PC ?

I have made custom size paper (340 x 220) profile in Pc printer's custom paper profile in menu. So when ever print on LGL paper we select this custom paper profile. & in service mode printers settings > LGL settings > U2> A Officio size selected. (340 x 220). so after setting this LGL paper in service mode printing from tray works just fine, but when ever i select stack bypass, 2 side printing option gets disabled.

So now I think from stack bypass 2 side printing & copy CUSTOM size paper is not possible.

under STACK BYPASS COLUMN
there are combinations u can't use for Bypass

one of them is under
2 sided to 2 sided & Bypass selection combo--
You cannot combine these modes when a nonstandard paper size or envelope is selected as the paper source.

that means u can't use a custom paper size setting for 2>2 ----must be a standard size - A/B or American size

Paper Using the Stack Bypass
You can select ISO paper sizes (such as A4 and B5) or North American paper sizes (such as LTR and LGL).

but u will not be able to use 1> to 2 sided or 2> to 2 sided
