    IRC3220 with DADF-K1 issue

Looking for some expertise. Working on a IRC3220 with a DADF-K1. For some reason the feeder does not respond and doesn't appear in options area of the service menu. Can't seem to get the feeder to respond to anything. Anyone with any ideas or thoughts? Thanks in advance for any help.

Did you check for any error codes in your error history under service mode.

E400-xxxx are usually associated with feeder issue.

    Sounds like a power/communication issue.

      ???- did it ever work?
Check if The input voltage of 24V DC is present on J2 pin 3 on ADF Controller.

Ensure that the ADF open / close sensor (SR6) actuator is functioning properly. Also make sure that the platen cover socket blanking sheets are there-
It is possible during installation or during servicing that the right hinge of the DADF K1 may not be seated properly, or may be deformed causing the DADF closed sensor actuator to not make contact with the machine when closed, (See picture below). This will result in the machine not seeing the feeder closed and thereby will not detect an original that has been placed.

did someone remove & reconnect that square interface DF PLUG while printer was on ??

1- what happens when u place sheet paper in DF TRAY ?

Also in the pic above that teckat posted, that connector gets knocked & broken visually check for damage or take the cover off & check the cables.

Thanks for the info and ideas. The feeder did work but they say it hadn't been used in a while. Couldn't tell you if it was unplugged while it was powered up. That unit i over in Lincoln so I will have to follow up on it when I am over there later in the week and then post back if we still don't have it figured from all your ideas and suggestions. As always, you guys are great. Thanks again.
