NEVER HEARD OF LEVEL 3... only level 1 & 2
To enter level 3: Enter level 1 using standard service mode entry method then while on the first screen enter>(*Additional Functions) and 3. This will ttake you to level 3. It is the same to enter level 2 except instead of 3 you enter 2.
Copier Guy, I believe Level 3 is only used for factory setting purpose only.
From training, I remember a couple of settings in level 3 that field techs could manipulate to achieve some end. What they were, I forget and would have to dig into my pile of books to find out. But, as you say, most of the settings are for factory use and should not be toyed with lightly or at all.
Thanks for that Mic Check.
Copier_Guy,let us know if you remember those settings to manipulate.
See, Now you owe me a Beer!
You made me go dig the book out, and I'm actually glad I did.
Level 3 Service mode on a iR C3200/3220 can be used for more detailed field testing and monitoring. There is a wealth of detailed checks you can do, like checking the individual temps on each fuser thermistor, or setting test print mode for single color output, dual color output....etc., you can turn document size detection on or off for the DADF and the list goes on.
Break out your technical reference guide and you'll see there are a lot of tools on these boxes we don't use on a regular basis, but I wish I had known on some of the problems I've encountered, because I would have isolated the problem faster.
Happy Hunting and don't forget to leave your location. When I'm in town, I want my Drink and now it's been upgraded to a Bottle of Remy Martin VSOP. My time is expensive!
Copier_Guy, Thanks for enlightening us. I am not from US. Anyway, I can send beer by post if you wish.
