    canon iR3225n Cassette issue

    Hi All

We are experiencing an issue with our machines cassette. It is varied ,but initially on the display the bottom cassette says it is empty. The lower cassette doesnt lift. The motor turns but the lift gear doesnt get engaged. I have replaced the lower cassette module and still have the same issue. other times it lifts but then it shows us to close the lower right door. Any suggestion?

    Regards

    Will

Read Empty but Full of Paper >

1-check if Paper Size Detection PCB for Cassette is stuck in the inward position

"Load Paper" Message is Displayed for Drawer
2-Check the left front cover. The cover may have not been installed correctly. Reinstalled the cover to correct the issue.

How many Trays 2 or 4?
'replaced the lower cassette module'? - More info required.

Lower Right door - check the latch springs on both sides of the door are intact.

Thanks. We have tried your suggestions but still no joy. This machine has 2 casettes. i have replaced the casstee, cassette module, suggested PCB at the front of the cassette. What i have found is if you giggle the wire harness the casstte lift motor turns , but the cassette doesnt lift. i have replaced the harness and still no joy.

Seems like a wiring issue, remove the Feed Assy & check connections from the inside connector to the Solenoid etc. If Tray 1 lifts & operates ok, you could try swapping them as a test however you will also need to change the brackets etc as well.

time to check signal connections > u have either a ground short to frame issue or a crimped signal wire>

u need to back track to pcb for signal/supply test & a continuity test along wire

-----; start with J308 connector on DCon > back track a continuity test along wire
do u have the circuit diagram ???????

    see attachment for wire locations

    SL1 cassette 1 pickup solenoid=DCON: J308
    SL2 cassette 2 pickup solenoid=DCON: J308

M6 cassette 1 pickup motor drives the pickup unit 1=DCON:J310
M7 cassette 2 pickup motor drives the pickup unit 2=DCON:J310

    PS1 cassette 1 paper sensor=DCON: J308
    PS2 cassette 2 paper sensor=DCON: J308
    PS3 cassette 1 paper level sensor A=DCON: J308
    PS4 cassette 1 paper level sensor B=DCON: J308
    PS5 cassette 2 paper level sensor A=DCON: J308
    PS6 cassette 2 paper level sensor B=DCON: J308
    PS10 cassette 1 retry sensor=DCON: J308
    PS11 cassette 2 retry sensor=DCON: J308
