    add the "114" total counter to the "101" total on all machines for billing

    remember--

    counter 102 will be a total of 2 clicks for all 11x17 paper and 1 click for all other size paper

    iR4570

    Need to set a "114" counter& "421 & 422"

    CNT-SW
    = Switching the charging counter and default display items

    <Setting range>
    - When the set value is 0 [Default]
    101: Total 1
    - When the set value is 1
    102: Total 2
    202: Copy Total 2
    127: Total A2
    - When the set value is 2
    101: Total 1
    104: Total small
    103: Total large
    501: Scan total 1

    100 - 199: Total

    Explanations of symbols and terms in the table

    - Large size: Paper greater than B4
    - Small size: Paper of B4 or smaller
    - Counter Description: Numerals 1 and 2 indicate the counts of large size paper.

    In service mode (COPIER>OPTION>USER>B4-L-CNT), B4 or greater can be set as the large size.
    - Total A: Total excluding local and remote copies
    - Total B: Total excluding local and remote copies and box prints
    - Copy: Local and remote copies
    - Copy A: Local and remote copies and box prints
    - Print: PDL, report, and box prints
    - Print A: PDL and report prints
    - Scan: Black-and-white and color scans

    ================
    iR3300

    114 =total (4C + mono + Bk/double-sided)
    total 1 (double-sided)

    115 =total 2 (double-sided)
    116= L (double-sided)
    117 =S (double-sided)

    iR2018/

    TOTAL (Total counter)
    SERVICE1 =Service total counter 1
    SERVICE2 =Service total counter 2
    TTL =Total counter
    COPY =Total copy counter
    PDL-PRT =PDL print counter
    FAX-PRT =Fax print counter
    REP-PRT =Report print counter
    2-SIDE =Double-sided copy/print counter
    SCAN =Scan counter

    114 Total1 (2-sided)
    115 Total2 (2-sided)
    116 L (2-sided)
    117 S (2-sided)

    Soft Counter
    The imageRUNNER 2000 Series uses soft counters. The control panel
    normally displays four out of six counters when the counter check button is
    pressed.
    Counter 5 & 6 can be displayed using service mode
    The counter description may be changed, enabled, or disabled in service mode, except for counter one. The counter one setting cannot be
    changed under any circumstances.

    SSSW-SW33
    Select whether to switch the counter display type in effect in Japan and USA to the conventional or new type.
    Select "Yes" to display counters in the new type.
    Select "No" to display counters in the conventional type.

    ----------------Bit4 -- Bit3
    Conventional type-0----0
    New type 1-------0----1
    New type 2-------1----0

    Question Re: Counter Check for iR3300/ir3320/iR4570/2018

    Pardon my silly but I have more question about counter

    1. Is that mean when copy or print 2 side it will count on T101 just 1 right?

    2. 114 is count all or I have to look both 114 and 101?

    3. Is the same way with model IRC3220 and IRC2550i too ?
    because i always use 101 / L color 122/ S color 123 / L Bk 112 / S Bk 113

    Thank you for more of your kind..

    Canon can't even explain the non-obvious counters used in billing customers--

    why would u bill for two-sided ?? no cheating there
    it's only one sheet of paper= one click

    can see billing for 11x17 as a double click (102 Counter will do that)

    u need to test out counters at customer or in shop

    1.-Total 101 only counts single made (All)

    2.-114 is just a Total 1 (Duplex) of all sized paper (duplex Copy+Print)

    I Test The machine and found that when customer copy or print duplex the counter T101 is count 2 meters, that's fine

    Thank you very much Teckat
    Your information is really useful and i'm so happy to be a tech like my father.

    I know some companies charge on developments rather than sheets passed so if you didn't have a meter that clicks twice for duplex you would be loosing half your revenue!

    Our set up for a mono machine is usually meters 102, 302, and 702 if a fax is fitted, on colours it is 405, 409, and again 702 for fax. If a customer has a requirement for being billed differently we try to custom the meter set up to everyone's needs.

    Yes Counter 101 counts images. It will always go up by 2 on duplex jobs. All Canons. Otherwise nobody would print or copy simplex.

    Re: Counter Check for iR3300/ir3320/iR4570/2018

    I dont mean to hijack this thread but I am looking for an answer to almost same problem

    I have couple of iR 3300 on contract. The customer takes A4 prints the Total 101 Counter increments by 1 , duplex increments by 2 .No problems there

    Now on a particular machine the customer is running lots of 11x 17 and the machine is counting 11x 17's as 1 similar to A4, I am loosing money on that . counter.jpg

    So my question is see attached file 101 Total 1 is it possible to change that in increments on 2 when taking 11x17's

    Thanks
    a machine is only as good as your tech : source:screwtape ; the scary one

    ----------------------------------------------------------

    TOTAL 101 - Can not be adjusted or changed

    Total 102 - will reflect the 11x17 as a double click/

    You will receive = 2 clicks for 11x17 and 1 click for all other sizes in one total counter.

    ::billing contracts must be worked out with customers before u surprise them with this charge

    NOTE:
    On your model the Counter 101: Total 1 (default: is fixed to 101)
    and is always displayed /

    Some models came out with firmware to override display switching of default from 101 to 102
    & on some models u can show Counter 1 as "102 Total 2"
