    C6000VP E020 186

I have a E020 186 code and a E020 1b1 code. This has to do with the yellow developer station. First thing is we hear grinding coming from that developer station, then when I pull it out to look at it all of the developer is off of the mag rolls.

This is what I have noticed that when you turn on the machine and watch it start turning the drums the exposure lamps don't come on on the yellow unit. The other three all come on, then when it starts to drive the developer it sounds like the gears are grinding in the rear.

I have read the tech pubs on the gears breaking so

what I have done is taken an entire yellow process station from another machine and put it in. This would eliminate a mechanical issue and I got the exact same issue. I am thinking maybe a dc controller? Or wire harness coming from the DC controller. This started intermittent and now is continuous. Which to me sounded like a broken or worn gear in the back or something obvious. 4.6 million on this meter Not sure where to go from here.

DC controller PCB 1-2 controls developer drive

    What should I try next?

got it, the drive behind the processing AY worn gear. the exposure lamps were a broken wire. I guess I will order more parts for these since the machine is getting older.

Sadly, Broken Gears are a fact of life on this series.

If u see enough of these units, u learn what xtra gears to carry.

You can also order the dev rail assemblies - they come with the little drive assembly attached.

Kind of a pain in the ass to put in without small hands, but the dev will cam in nice once you replace it.

For what it's worth, I had a guy with a C6000 that had 6 million on it, and he recently replaced it with C750...might be something to look into down the road.

    Thanks guys!

It may be time to send this c7000 out to pasture.

I had replaced the entire dev rail only 4 months ago, along with the opposing drive gear. Already a flat spot and slippage. The part number for just the dev rail gear has changed, I wonder if it's any better...
