Just installed W2 fax in 3080, getting error # e000674-0020 . Any help is greatly appreciated. I have checked all the connections and they are solid.

    Symptom
After installing the fax kit, the iR powers up to an E674-0020 error. All four fax connectors seem to be properly seated.

    Action
    1. Check the 40-pin data cable bundle. Especially, check the male connectors (including the interconnect) for bent, broken, missing, or shorted pins. If there is no sign of damage, do a continuity check across the entire cable.
    2. A missing power supply voltage will also cause this error. Check the power supply connections for correct voltages.

Error code E674-0020 is not listed in the Service Manual. This error code is defined as a failure in communication of Fax board. In this case, the fax board was replaced, but still same code. With the Fax Board removed from the machine, the Copier will boots up.

    Action

The problem was resolved by performing an MMI clear in Service Mode... Copier > Function > Clear.
    ..

    Hope this helps.

    Cliff.

Keep in mind MMI will nuke all IP settings, address book entries, send settings, etc... so you're going to want to back it up and print out the reports from add functions> report settings > user data lists.
