What should i look for?
No Power / Boot Problems / Rebooting / Lock-Ups / Blank Screen or Black Screen : imagePRESS & imageRUNNER Series Important
Symptom
An iR Series Machine has no power, rebooting, a problem with the boot sequence or the control panel is locking up with an erroneous message. Examples include the following:
- No Display but Green LED is On.
- The iR does not 'Power Up'. The Display Screen is Dark and the Green LED is not Displayed.
- The green LED on the copy start button will not light and copies cannot be made.
- No Display, but the Backlight is Lit.
- The Green Power LED keep Flashing.
- The machine will not come out of sleep mode unless the main power switch is cycled off then on.
- The Copier Has A Black LCD Screen With The Green Power LED On.
- Green Power Light Flashing & No Display.
- Won't boot.
- Blank Display and the Relays are Chattering.
- Progress bar on display gets stuck.
- Erratic Operation and the Machine Turns On and Off.
- Copier shuts down and reboots during copy run.
- The Machine Reboots when the Copy / Print Cycle begins.
- Copier Control Panel Locks Up.
- The Machine Intermittently Reboots.
- Stuck in wait.
- The progress bar boots 4/5 of the way and stops.
- The Boot Process locks up at 75%
- The Progress Bar is stuck at 100% of the Wait state.
- The Control Panel Displays 'Please Wait'
- The machine's processing data light flashes after booting up at power on.
- The Progress Bar Stalls 1/4th the Way Across / The Machine Won't Go Into Download Mode
- Stuck in wait 1/8 of progress bar indicated.
- Lines are Displayed on the Control Panel at Power On.
- Multicoloured Lines through the Display.
- Lines through display panel.
Cause
- Faulty Accessory
- Corrupt System Software (or a Bug)
- Boot Rom, RAM or Peripheral Cards are not securely fitted to the Main Controller PCB Assembly
- One or more of the following could be faulty: HDD, RAM, SRAM Board PCB Ass'y, Boot Rom, Fuse Board PCB, Main Controller PCB Assembly, Sub Controller Board Assembly, DC Controller PCB Assembly, FAX Board, Power Supply/Switching Regulator PCB Assembly
- Loose Connector or Damaged/Pinched Wiring
- Network Settings
- Defective Control Panel
Action
At times the only method of troubleshooting this symptom is to replace the PCB's listed above one at a time. Therefore, to repair the copier in a timely manner it is recommended to order all the PCB's known to cause the above listed symptoms. Depending on the model, this may include HDD, RAM, SRAM Board PCB Ass'y, BootROM, Fuse Board PCB, Main Controller PCB Assembly, Sub Controller Board Assembly, DC Controller PCB Assembly, FAX Board, Power Supply/Switching Regulator PCB Assembly. Refer to the service documentation for the model you are working on.
well before you start ordering parts, try to disassemble all those parts clean their contacts areas well will pure alchool and something that doesn't leave residues let it dry for 10 minutes and then reassemble them making sure they are all well fitted into place, a bad contact is more probable specially with machines in bad conditions places or like that line for a long while on the market it will cost less to try that
