    Re: error

The IH power supply is faulty/the IH control mechanism is faulty.
After correcting the fault, be sure to reset the error. (COPIER>FUNCTION>CLEAR>ERR)

    ------------------------;

Check the rear fixing connector for bent, damaged or defective pins.

E004 is caused either by a fault in the power supplied to the fuser assembly or a breakdown of a component inside the fuser assembly.

Technician's that are troubleshooting this error should first check and monitor the voltage at the wall outlet. If the voltage coming from the outlet drops below 105V AC at any time the imageRUNNER 5070 will display an E004.

A test of the neutral to ground voltage should also be performed. This will confirm there are no abnormal voltage ratings.

The Voltage check should be made during an extended copy run where a minimum of 100 copies are made.

Confirm Multicast discovery is turned off in Additional Functions>System>Network>TCP/IP>Multicast set to off (0).

Multicast discovery may cause machine to reboot, lock up and also when network cable is plugged in , generate E733/E732 codes.
    if so/ reboot printer

    Symptom
When powered on the LCD panel will display the boot progress bar, the progress bar will advance a quarter of the way and then an E004 or E005 is displayed. If the iR is powered on with the front door open and the Fixing/Feeder Frame Assembly is disengaged and pulled out to the service position the LCD panel will display the boot progress bar and progress a quarter of the way and then display an E025 code.

    Cause
The E004, E005 and E025 where a result of an absence of 24V in the iR5055/5065/5075. The failure of the Main Power Supply was the cause of the missing 24 Volts.

    Action
Replacement of the Main Power Supply (FK2-3473-000) resolved the error codes.

Check Thermistors for wire breakage - can cause same Error.

    Re: error

Replace the main thermistor assembly before you start changing power supplies and stuff. The wires break from the translation movement of the thermistors along the ufr. I replace thermistors on these machine along with 5570,irac 6055 family machines all the time... Be careful of the routing of the wiring. Very rarely do they last the rated 500k(nothing in those fuser lasts 500k....coating wears away on ufr where end thermistor rides at about 300k,lfr and bearings self destruct around the same time.) At 300k I replace ufr, bushings, thermistors, and lfr assembly(with bearings). At 600k I do the same only include ufr bearings. Crummy design.
