I have a Canon IRC3380 that has blurry copies on the top half of the copy only, bottom is focused. I actually have the same problem on a Canon IRC3220. We have replaced the transfer belt units in both but still the same issue. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Re-aligned all four Laser Assemblies
After aligning all Laser Assemblies it may be necessary to initiate a fine adjust to achieve proper alignment. To do this start with the Black Laser Assembly. Move the alignment gear one tooth at a time and then let the machine perform a registration adjustment. Usually, you will have to perform this fine adjustment a few times until the registration is close enough for the machine to correct it automatically.

We did all the above on the 3380, still nothing. Havent been back out to the 3200 yet. The image is shifted up instead of side to side, so on the 3380 you can see magenta slightly above the text. On the 3200 you can't differentiate what color is the issue. I am waiting to get test pages from the tech today and I will post.

See attached test pages on the IRC3380. We did the above suggestions and this is on all color prints and color copies.

print out your P PRINT settings/ then do a DCON CLEAR/ POWER OFF/ON PRINTER
re-input those DCON settings/ then do FULL AUTO GRADATION
DC-CON Clears DC controller PCB's RAM.
MEMO:
The RAM is cleared after the main power switch is turned OFF/ON.
Operation method
1) Select COPIER > FUNCTION > MISC-P > P-PRINT to print out the service mode setting values.
2) Select this item, then press the OK key.
3) Turn the main power OFF/ON.
4) Enter the data printed by the P-PRINT operation as needed.

Tech says he did this as well and no change.

Did that tech or someone ever remove the Laser Scanner Unit
Points to Note when Mounting the Laser Scanner Unit-
When removing or mounting the laser scanner unit, hold the front side and the left side of the laser scanner unit. Holding at the right side may cause color displacement due to the positional displacement of the reflection mirror.
When mounting the laser scanner unit, fit the boss of the scanner unit into the slot of the machine, and be sure that the unit is secured in place.
Also, check to see that the heights of the screw on the front side and the screw on the rear side are the same.

Bk is used to detect the reference BD signal and, as such, laser light is directed to the surface of the polygon mirror. In other words, the write start position in main scanning direction for Bk is determined based on actual
measurement--
on that iR3380 PG10/ u have an issue with MAGENTA in Main Scan direction

machine controls synchronization in main scanning direction to ensure the write start position of individual lines in main scanning direction.
Synchronization occurs for each line of each color, and is controlled by the DC controller.

Ok, we replaced the Laser Unit with no change. Then changed the DC Controller, its almost perfect but this is the PG10 now, could this just be a bad magenta drum?trilamdec13.pdf-------------------------------------

U mean the white gap area on PG10 Magenta blocks/
did u follow instructions/ & procedures for a Laser Replacement & the DC Controller replacement >
did u put back the DCON settings from P PRINT ?
(DC Controller replacement>the adjustment values (for ADJUST and OPTION) will return to their default settings. If there has been any change in a service mode item, be sure to update its setting indicated on the service label.)

My proposition may seem to be stupid, but have you cleaned or replaced the patch reeding sensors (ATRs) ?
When replacing the laser assembly, you have to input all the new values that came with the new laser.
