    Canon IR2016i lite copies

    Hi Guys,
We have a Canon IR2016i with lite streaks throughout copies.
Skyshot copies show lite and blank streaks, I replaced drum and cleaned the developer "slit" with a piece of paper.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks alot

    Hi,
Have you changed the toner lately? It can be one possibility. You did not indicate that you are a tech. There are other areas you need to check if you were a tech. But getting an original toner can help.

Hello there and Thank you for the reply....I have been a technician for 26 years, and we use only OEM toner.
I am thinking it may be a transfer roller?
    Thank you for your help.

Open the left door when you hear the registration engage, see if the image is light on the drum if so then laser, drum, developer. Frankly just cleaning the dev's on these machines will bite you in the ass. Take out the drum and look at the surface of the dev does it have a solid black coating on it or full of lines? They also tend to accumulate paper dust like mad in the dev's.

Not that bad it's only held in by a front cover that's hidden by the front door. Two plastic tabs and two holes that the dev sits on. It sucks to do it once but gets easier over time. Laser's a write black on that so you'd probably want to give that a good cleaning too. If you have any toner accumulated at the rear of the paper path the dev is definitely toast and will need replacement.

Carry a pair of dev unit spacers along with you.
