Canon IR2018 PCB FK2-5356 power supply blown, search for component ID

    Dear All,

I have a blow power supply. We work with carbon fibre, which conducts electricity .
The pcb FK2-5356 is defect, a component has blown off.
I have the idle hope, that if I replace this component, and connected transistors it would work again.
Long time ago I repaired a Mashall amplifier this way.

As you can see the 8 legged beast is beheaded. I cant't see which bug it was. Maybe a voltage regulating IC.

    Anyone a clue?

After a hopefully repair, I will coat the pcb with an isolating varnish spray.

It is safe to say that an IC blown like this is not alone faulty, more likely one or more of the Power Transistors are blown, generating a massive overload to the driver ic which raises its hat and go down the river. A Power Supply for the 2018 is not that much expensive, so you should get a new one.

Ps.: And yes, if you are working with carbon fibres, you should isolate the pcb (and the oters too, btw. ) with plastic spray or something like this to prevent further damage.

    Dear Herrmann,

I fully agree! Together with a collegue I saw some transistors with diodes nearby.
We will map the connections of the broken IC and check if the surrounding components are ok.

The thing is that the power supply cost about 800€???
This would be worth the effork fixing it.

I saw then in china for 115 Euro, but they don't respond to my inquiry.

    Anyone knows the IC number?

    Regards,

    Stephan
