Your problem is color registration, try to clear dc-con in service mode under functions, clear dc -con. If problem comes back , the transfer sheet may be stetched and therefor slipping. You can try to take it apart and clean internal rollers and if that doesn' t work you will need to change the transfer sheet. Good Luck

U never clear DCON without printing out a P PRINT with settings ---there are no quick fixes for a lack of maintainance

It seems I'm having the same problem. Did it fix your problem?
Please let me know how to do it. I'm not a technician, I'm new here and I don't really know how to get into the service mode...

Thanks for your reply! However, it is actually okay to cause more issues.
It is an old "piece of junk" as many other people here say. It does not worth a penny. I
just wanted to know if the service manual you posted previously fixed the problem before I call recycle people.
I had a misalignment problem about 4 years ago - reverse direction on duplex printing - A technician replaced the transfer belt unit and some other stuffs charged me $$$$.
(I was actually stunned as I was reading your service manual. There were many ways to try to fix the misalignment problem!)
The problem persisted and I got a xerox workcentre. I barely used canon since then.

It does not look like a mechanical problem. I've had such shaky toner pattern time to time, and it cured itself.
V.Connector Reseating due to color mis-registration in the main scanning (front to rear)
direction due to loose wiring on the DC Controller/System Controller and the two
interconnection ribbon cables between the DC Controller and the System Controller
This seems to be the cause of it.

    I'm dissembling it this weekend.
Please let me know if you know the possible causes of it or fixed similar symptoms.
Thank you kindly in advance for your reply!

Ensure that the Drum Ground for all COLORS contact clip is making a good connection with the grounding pin on the machine frame.
Reform the contact clip and replace if it is badly deformed.
