    &
    Envelope (Long Edge Feed) COM10 104.7 241.3

The Correct Procedure for the Tray Width Adjustment on the Multi-purpose Tray is listed below.

*Start off by entering the door spec for the Multi Purpose Tray, then follow the procedure below.

    1) Set A4R paper on the Multi-purpose Tray, and set the guide so
that it fits the paper width.
    (Lv.1) Copier > Function > CST > MF-A4R
    2) Select the item, and then press OK key.
The value is registered after automatic adjustment.

    3) Set A4 paper on the Multi-purpose Tray, and set the guide so that
    it fits the paper width.
    (Lv.1) Copier > Function > CST > MF-A4
    4) Select the item, and then press OK key.
The value is registered after automatic adjustment.

This makes no sense. The MP Tray can run envelopes both ways but should be dependent on installation of inner finisher. Without the inner finisher the envelopes should be fed via long edge. I have no clue what your other jargon about setting the A4R paper and such. There's no such settings even in the service mode.

If the bypass VR values are out of wack it will give you a similar symptom to this.

teckat posted the instructions of what needs to be done. You'll need to go into service mode to perform the adjustments

The machine accepts the COM10 size correctly (vertical) when you copy from the MP tray, but not when you print.

I don't have A4 paper and the menu selections are not found. There's no (Lv.1) Copier > Function > CST > MF-A4R on this machine.

Haha yea canon is weird like that. There should be markings on the bypass tray itself so you set the guide to a4r, hit the function > cst > mf-a4r. It should say ok. But what you're telling me if it copies fine then the size detection is ok. I'll have a looksee next time I'm at one of these puppies and let you know.

    Just found out

It looks like on this series C2230/C2225 Printer model , Canon has eliminated the paper width VR adjustment for it's Multi-Purpose tray/
all this Tray has is Paper Presence Sensor-& Last Paper Detection Sensor

A few other iRADVC's have the VR Width for their MP Tray-

the only available adj for your MP tray is -Margin Adjustment(1st-2nd side)/& Leading Edge Margin Adjustment(1st-2nd side) / and some other various nonsense items-
    COPIER > ADJUST > FEED-ADJ > ADJ-MF in Service Mode (Level1)
