Canon Imagerunner 3045 - Jam but no Jam

    Hello.

My office has a Canon Imagerunner 3045.

The display says that there is a paper jam in paper drawer 1. It gives a full list of instructions on how to fix the paper jam. I have opened the drawer, taken out all the paper, opened the side door, opened anything that can be opened short of taking the whole machine apart. There is no paper jammed in the machine.

The first thing that I did was do a hard reset. When the printer restarted itself, the screen showed the paper jam message right away.

After I did the above, I thought that maybe it might be a paper sensor issue. So I blast dusted the inside of the printer. The screen is still showing a paper jam message.

Short of sending the machine back to Canon for servicing, is there anything else I can do on my end?

Thanks in advance for suggestions that are forthcoming.

It sounds like you either have a bad sensor or a small scrap of paper hung on the sensor that blowing out did not dislodge.

Thanks for the answer. It is most probably a bad sensor.

In service mode you can see exactly where the jam location is.Usually is not a bad sensor but it's stuck sensor flag for a reason.Question is why! It's 5 min. problem.

I have followed the instructions on the printer, and checked where the printer said the jam was. There was no paper stuck there. That is why I think that this is a sensor problem.

tires are worn down probably. We do need a jam code to understand exactly what the machine thinks is wrong in order to help you out.

Thumbs up Re: Canon Imagerunner 3045 - Jam but no Jam

    The problem has been resolved.

It turned out that it was a roller that pulls the paper was broken.

So the machine translated that into a jam.

    Thanks for all the suggestions.

There is a piece that pulls the paper. That piece turns. The part that makes it turn was broken. The part is made out of plastic, it breaks easily.

If paper doesn't get out of the tray, the machine sees it as a jam because it didn't reach the next sensor.
