Calibrating scanner colors on IR advance 5030

Hi, I have a image runner advance where when i scan a black sheet in color mode it will have the top part blue. I have concluded it is the scanner because whenever I print the colors are fine. but scanning and copying are blue. Attached is a scan of what I am talking about.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    proper sequence to calibrate

the sequence is to do an AUTO COLOR MISMATCH first, then a CORRECT SHADING, followed by a full AUTO GRADATION,
then COLOR CALIBRATION for the image Pass/Fiery-or ColorPass.
    note:
CORRECT SHADING and COLOR CALIBRATION should be performed using a Spectrophotometer (i1 Basic Pro).

There are 3 types of shading correction you can do on a imageRUNNER ADVANCED Series copier.

    1)Densitometer Correction
    2)Visual Correction
    3)Print Server Correction

the shading correction does not apply to your scanner adjustments.

You say you are placing a black original on your glass and it is coming out with blue tones. What does the output look like when you place a full color original on the glass?
In order to get good copy quality you have to run the auto gradation and choose the proper original type for the scanner to get the proper DPI when scanning the originals.

Another setting that we always set on these units to help with the copy quality is go to service mode copier>option>FN-SW>IMGCNTPR - 0
    cycle power
    run auto gradation
    test
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.

    hi
when i place a full color photo on the glass and copy or scan to computer half the sheet is very nice and towards the top the black starts fading and the black starts fading to blueish. all prints from computer are very nice. i tried your instructions and that didnt help. physically the scanner looks to be in perfect condition.

U can't just look at a Laser Scanner Unit & determine it looks good/ that's like kicking the tires

I understand. do you think it's the scanner unit? ever heard of the scanner unit scanning much lighter or tinting certain colors on one side?
    Thanks
