    E061-0005 CANON IR5870C

    Hi all

there was a spill of cyan toner in the machine. We cleaned it up. Now before gradation is completed the e061-0005 comes up.

What i have done so far

is i have change the pre exposure. Led1. And the potential sensor and harness but the error is on

the meter is reading 380k plus.

I switched the po-cnt off the error cleared but when i tried to copy the paper was soiled.

    Note:!!!
I havent checked the laser unit yet.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

CYAN Toner Blast in/on LASER Mirror & BD Mirror ?

Mirror cleaning tool may help to clean

E061 = during potential control, a specific level of potential is not obtained or the limiter goes on
The difference in potential between dark and light areas is less than 100 V.

If the Laser Unit is not seated properly, this will cause an error code E061-0005.
make sure the bottom positioning pins on the laser unit are positioned properly. The pins must fit into the slots in the machine frame.

Check to see if the drum is turning. The screw at the rear to secure the drive to the drum shaft could be too short and not locking. Seen it a few times. Turn off potential control and try it. If you get blanks, probably drum not turning

    Re: E061-0005 CANON IR5870C

Is the drum turning??? Another issue with these machines is that the wiring in the harness for the potential control sensor breaks. Can only unplug then re-plug about 10 times then the wires break. What are Vd and VL? Lets troubleshoot, not toss parts at it. Looking at VD and VL will sort things out. No readings....,wiring broke or sensor fried(doubt it),no primary charging(can be checked also in service mode),drum not turning,...if VD in specs and no VL...laser or laser shutter not opening(been there)....VL too high...poor drum grounding...erratic VD and VL..pre-exposure not working properly(have seen broken wires in harness from unplugging,ty-wraps).There are about 10 things to check in service mode before even speculating whats wrong. Use it...it will save you hours of labor and a wheelbarrow full of parts. On these models step 1 is the easiest...cheat the front door and see if the drum is turning
