    IR3300 black print

Unless I use the Auto density setting, the entire page comes black even at the lightest density setting.
This only happens when I am copying from platen glass. When I place the original in the ADF, the copy comes out fine in whatever density setting.
When I make density and developing bias adjustments in service mode, the platen copies improve but instead, the ADF copies become too light or even blank.

Auto density works fine for both platen and ADF except that some particular originals require a manual density setting. Is this a strange problem?

So if you run prints it looks fine.

It's not a print density problem, it's a scan density problem. I'd start with the lamp. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks for giving a starting point. But what do I have to do with the lamp? Any adjustments other than replacements?

Thanks for giving a starting point. But, Does the ADF use a different lamp? What do I have to do with the lamp? Any adjustments other than replacements?

Fluorescent lamps either light fast enough and bright enough ... or they don't. Fluorescent lamps fail in some obvious ways, and some not so obvious.

    Obvious:
    Are the lamp end blackened?
    Have the terminals been arcing?
Does it light slow or flicker?

    Not so obvious:
    Lamp heater failure
    Cracked lamp harness

Do all ccd adjustments to start. Any errors logged? Also this is not a fluorescent...its Xenon...green. Usually when you need to replace a 3300 lamp you need to replace inverter also....new vendor for lamp.
