image runner advance C9065 pro poor black toner density

Just got this machine used with 250,000 pages. Worked great for 100 pages. Now the black is almost all gone. So, I primed the developer unit manually. Black came back almost perfect. Now the density senor read below normal before I primed it (-3.8) now that I have filled it up it reads (1.8). My question is why doesnt the machine replenish the toner, when it clearly knew it was below spec? And why doesn't it error out and say add toner?

    ----------------------------------------

why would prime the developer in this series

    check>>>>>>>
COPIER>ADJUST>PASCAL>OFST-P-K /make sure it is set around "0"
    Rn a full Auto Gradation

Before performing Copier / Function / Install / INISET- K, make sure potential control is turned on.

    COPIER / OPTION / FNC-SW / PO-CNT is set to a 1.

If potential control is/was turned off/disabled prior to performing the initialization. One of the things the machine performs during the initialization is potential control.

With potential control disabled, the primary corona isn't turned on during the process. This in turn, depletes the black developer.

Pull out the Pre Transfer Corona Assembly /& run a test of solid black or a bunch of PG10's> see if BLK improves---------

Swap the BK Developer bias HVT (UN39) connector with the Y Developer bias HVT (UN40). check if issue transfers over to Yellow
did u CHECK THE PG10 TEST PRINT

Note: All 4 colors use the same Developer bias HVT.

Does HVT control the amount of toner added to developer unit? Because when I added developer it works perfect until it is deplenished. I think if the HVT was bad it would never be perfect, always light no matter how much toner was present in the developer. Sounds like you know way more than I do. I am just trying to keep it simple.

    ----------------------------------

is the Developer being fully depleted or is it a depletion/starvation of BK Toner

    CANON
    Developer units are Depleting
    .
For Black, replacing 1st Corona H.V. PCB Assembly / FM3-5253-000 resolved the depleting issue.

a Bad DC controller Mother PCB assy. will also cause this for various colors

check if BLK DEV is dumping into waste container /
or is BLK TONER dumping into container ??

have u inspected BLK DRUM ?

Sounds like this could be the fix. Still don't understand how it knows its low on toner but doesn't want to replenish the toner. There should be an error when it fails to toner up.

    ------------------------

when u say BLACK is almost gone > u mean the Black if faded to a gray look on Copies & Prints
when u are physically adding product to unit> u are creating an issue with the T/D ratio
Developing method = Dry, 2-component method

how old are the DEV UNITS ??/ 250K MEANS NOTHING/ it's all about the % coverage of toner used on paper

    ATR Control
Developer is supplied to the developing assembly so that an ideal T/D ratio can be obtained.
The DC controller interface PCB (UN2) judges the toner supply volume based on the following three types of data.
    • Video count
    • Density sensor
    • Patch sensor

When the DC controller interface PCB (UN2) judges that toner needs to be supplied, it drives the hopper stirring/supply motors (M6/M9/M12/M15) and rotates the toner supply screw to supply toner into the developing assembly. When the number of rotations of the screw is
detected by the toner feed screw rotation sensors (PS9/PS12/PS15/PS18), the toner supply volume can be detected.

I will changed the developer unit first. No telling how many copies this part actually has, because the reseller could have slipped an older unit in it from another machine. Thanks for all your help, much appreciated!!!

    good afternoon:
I had the same problem with a 9075 IRC ADV PRO black color starts well and then lower the quality of the prints, after analyzing the problem well and check values and sensors, the problem is in the sub-toner hopper (FM3-SUB 9895-000 HOPPER ASSEMBLY, BLACK) internally has a coil which provides toner but is broken and does not allow to pass q toner development unit, check this is a bit tedious to disarm but satisfying when you solve this fails, you I say that I have already done 4 times on different machines is a manufacturing error, whether you realize it you'll realize, and notify canon but still, this team already discontinued
I also left the code of SUB HOPPER ASSEMBLY, BLACK FM3-9895-000
there is included the sub hopper

    regards
