    c7055 control panel falling

Optional upright control panel (same as c9065pro?) won't stay upright. The arm stays in position fine but the panel itself tilts down. I dis-assembled the ball/socket junction and saw something that looked like double sided taped mylar being used as shims - possibly to help hold it's position?

Do I need to add more shims to tighten the socket or replace the whole ball/socket assm? Is it the same part # as the c9065 - "FM3-4814 Control panel base unit"?
