iR C5185 fuzzy print on ITB

PG-print pattern 1 shows same symptoms for all 4 lasers. Although running generic toner (yikes) I have installed a black test drum and symptoms were identical. Density of test print 1 seems OK in solids but borders and interior of patterns are poorly defined, could be called 'grainy' as in other posts. Replaced ITB belt with 'used but good' belt with no luck. Cleaned charge and transfer roller bushings, pattern reader unit, black laser window slot. Hoping for suggestions before DC-controller clear. Image is poor immediately after transfer from drums to ITB.

Put canon toner in there before you throw more parts and time at it, generic toner is almost always the cause of image quality problems.

this does not appear to be a toner problem

So BLACK Image is good on DRUM & Poor on ITB BELT before SECONDARY TRANSFER to Paper?

    Transfer Bias Control
    (1) Primary transfer bias: output according to the environmental sensor, color mode, and ATVC control
    (2) Secondary transfer bias: output according to the paper type, environmental sensor, color mode (full / mono), and ATVC control

DC bias for Primary Transfer is thru HV2
    DC bias for Secondary Transfer
    =HV3

these HVTS's cause single color issues in this series / best to swap both if available or replace both

    HVT1 (FM2-6323-000) and HVT2 (FM2-6324-000)

try and swap connections from HV1 BLK over to HV1 CYAN (there next to each other)--
    see if issue travels over--------

Could not seem to get it stalled to view the image on the drum, but yes ITB image prior to secondary transfer is poor - FOR ALL COLORS (only swapped black drum unit as a test with identical results). I'm not sure if there would be any settings that could affect all 4 units the same way, am pretty sure image is like this on the drums prior to transfer.

as u can see > u need to check the HVT UNIT CONTROL SPECS ABOVE

did u try the HVT CONNECTION SWAP/

even though u have no errors>
also need to remove all the SUB BOARDS on Main Controller> clean and re-seat/ see pdf

SO...finally realized some ass wiped the DC con settings without putting back in the original values. This was an inherited account so no history was available, inspected laser units for values, properly entered them, set PASCAL to a value from another machine's P-Print as well as P-ALPHA and the fuzzy print went away.
Quality is still not great but I attribute that to the generic toner and other worn parts (fuser/ITB belt and charge rollers/transfer). Factory setup print was MIA.

May be a timing belt problem...
