Unhappy Canon iR2020i - loading problem.....

    Dear,

I have big problem with Canon iR2020i. Problem is when machine is powered up,
loading bar goes to half of it and stays there.
Because this machine doesn't have safe mode I can't go to download mode to
upload new firmware because for ServiceMode it must be in normal mode to enter
it by AF,2,8,AF. Does any one have some advice what can I try?
    Thanks!

Bad NIC, unplug it and see if it boots without it, if so then replace the nic with a new or pulled one.

Yeah my thoughts would be the NIC, or possible HDD.

Was there a power cut, or did an end user trip over the power cable to the copier?

Have you powered it off completly, including removing the power cable for 20 minutes, then restarted? I had one do this about 4 weeks ago and luckily for me it came back to life and has been working ever since.

You can try this, maybe it works.

if you can insert the K2-5725-000 1 MEMORY, USB FLASH, 128M of other ir2020i, when you turn on the machine, one error will appear but you will be able to enter to the service mode and download mode after that exchange with its memory usb flash and you can update this model firstly you MUST download "boot" and secondly "system" and after pcl.

    May be it will work.

Re: Canon iR2020i - loading problem.....

    Dear,

I'm a little late with info but here I am.
So, what did I do is:
    - left machine about day with that status (thinking maybe will woke up, you never know)->NOTHING
    - turned off with power cable disconected from machine more than one hour->NOTHING
    - pulled out SDRAM,turn on machine and there was only black screen with about 6 straight white lines->NOTHING
    - put back SDRAM, turn on machine->same problem->NOTHING
    - pulled out USB Memory, turn on machine and whoila! started in normal mode except there was inverted colors on display (turned back on to normal color mode)
    - put back on USB Memory, turn on machine and everything is OK for now but there is another big problem

For now printing and copying is working but......when i pres "SEND" it says:"This function requires optional equipment."
This machine is "i" model and for now iSEND kit is suddenly disappeared.
How can I recover iSEND kit and where is he stored? Does anyone have advice/solution for this?

I didn't tried to put new firmware yet because customer is on vacation right now.

    Thanks guys!!
