iR-ADV C9075 PRO e009-0502

We have an iR-ADV C9075 PRO in the showroom that has had the fuser taken from it for a few clients over last few months.

Intermittently since we have had the machine I have noticed an e009 code would appear. It appeared to go away one day and only recently has it become a real issue.

As of right now the machine will get to ready on boot up, then if you run a copy of any kind (even plain paper) it will typically jam right before it gets to the fuser and then it will throw the e009 code. I have opened a case with CCI regarding this but they are sort of confused by it...

Recently we had a C7065 with a similar problem where we could only fix it by changing the wire harnesses in the fixing tray.

I haven't gotten to this point yet, but I have swapped the entire fuser (this includes the base unit) and the motor at the rear of the fuser that drives the cam for the pressure belt. The error pertains to pressure release timing.

I will be honest when I say I haven't had a ton of time to work on this, but it has been consistent lately and the machine is practically useless.

Anybody have this issue before?

The machine is practially brand new with 16k on it, running latest FW.

They installed grease on the fixing cam gears during production, they've since acknowledged that it was a bad idea. All the gears in the fixing assembly should be removed and cleaned with alcohol. e009 is a fixing cam code.

Grease issue was bad on Advance5000 series...there are bulletins. Had one of these on a 7065...it was harness. Wouldn't hurt cleaning old grease from cam for pressure belt...I would re-grease it. On 5000 series...yeah,get rid of it. On 7000 I wouldn't run it dry. If you have swapped entire fuser unit and still getting errors I would look closely at drawer connectors(drawer and base machine) and, like my problem was,..the harness

I haven't had too much time to work at it, but I have looked at the harness in the fixing tray and those GD cable ties that Canon like to put on stuff are always WAY too tight.

I will try removing the grease this week if I get a second. I have done this many times on the C5051.

The entire fixing assembly has been replaced though, and that includes the base part with the decurling rollers. It came with a fair amount of grease on it.

A while back we thought that it had something to do with the steel gear that is greased driving the cam, but it seems like it moves okay. So we left it alone, I would think wiring is probably suspect at this point as it was intermittent before and then something happened whereby we replaced the entire fixing assembly and it came back almost permanently.

Weird.

I'll let you guys know what I find out.

Hey there

Can't recall the exact solution as it was a few years ago.

But I can tell you that I at least tried the motor on the back of the fixing/feeding unit and the harness for the fixing/feeding unit.

I'm pretty sure the issue was with the motor this time, but I've had e009 appear since on other units that needed the cable.
