E000020-1060 on IRADVC2020

An error code E000020-1060 came up on screen after changing all drums (CYMK). Having researched the following were tried without any good results;
1) Laser removed and cleaned including polygon motor - no good
2) New Laser with another ne Ydrum/dev tried - no good
Also at this stage (DMax/D-Half ciontrol) set to zero before inserting new drum. AUTO-DH set to 0 in COPIER-OPTION-IMG-DEV
3) High Voltage PCB assy tried - no good.

However if the old drums are inserted, the MFD works ok.
Could anyone explain why and the resolution to this problem.

I have only seen this error on a faulty yellow drum. I cleaned the laser glass, set the machine to ITB / drum replacement and fitted the new yellow drum ok

Have you tried each drum individually to see which one (yellow) is causing the issue?

Hi to all,

Canon has not found a "definitive solution" to this issue. They started by suggesting to clean the laser including the polygon mirrors. Sometimes, this is not enough. In our case, and when cleaning is not successful, we install the microchip of the old drum but we cannot manage the drum life anymore unless if you take notes.

Have you tried each drum individually to see which one is causing the issue?

I would do this first, it sounds like you have a dodgy drum unit, they are fairly common to have a DOA drum unit, I personaly haven't had much luck with Cyan drums.

failing that, check the patch sensor (clean AND that the actuation of the shutter arm is opperational), the conectors for the patch sensor, ITB surface, laser unit, laser shutter opperation (via service mode) and make sure that your firmware is up to date.

after that come back and let us know if it fixed the issue

this problem happened with me too much the M drum made this problem also as our colleagues wrote clean the laser and your problem will be solve

I had a case with magenta unit and I remember spending 2 hours ( cleaning patch sensor & polygon & restarting ) and when I was about to give up - I did just one more restart and it worked.

What did I learn from this experience ? === Not a damn thing...

Saludos. Yo la experiencia que he tenido es cambiar directamente la unidad laser. Ya que previamente le he hecho todo lo que dice los boletines y mas pero lo unico que me ha funcionado hasta hoy es cambiarle la unidad laser entera.

Greetings. I've had the experience that is directly change the laser unit. Since previously I have done everything it says and more bulletins but the only thing that has worked for me so far is to change the whole laser unit.
