    Clean the DRUM Surface ;-\

    Get some Drum powder, follow manual cleaning info

    Both of this models use the same amorphous selenium Drum. Why it is white spot on IR 6000? It is only visible in Sky shot and pictures. Because of the spark which create a pinhole in the drum. Why it is black spots on IR 8500 maybe not the drum spot is the reason,maybe you have a toner leak or dropping that's why it is Black.

    U can have an external pinhole or an internal pinhole on Drum Surface/ they cause different spot types

    don't have the time to research it, but it is possible that one model laser uses the write to light method and the other uses write to black. Just a thought.

    On the 5000 or 8500 old arc spots will show up white. IF you have a customer than runs labels through the machine, small spots of glue can stick o the drum on a 5000 or 8500. If this happens the result will be black specs. Polish the drum and ask customer if label media is being used. If so get different labels, also make sure they are following the procedure in manual feed tray.
