================================
1. Connector
Is the connector of the fixing assembly connected ?
a. main power supply PCB (J8) <-> relay connector <-> heater
b. DC controller PCB (J320) <-> relay connector <-> thermistor
NO: Connect the connector.
2. Fixing film unit (thermistor)
Check the interval between pin 1 and pin 2 and between pin 3 and pin 4 of the connector (4-pin) of the thermistor for electrical continuity. Is it ¥W
(open)?
YES: The heater has an open circuit, or the thermal switch is open. Replace the fixing film unit.
3. Main power supply PCB, DC controller PCB
Press the Start key. Is the drive voltage of the heater supplied by the connector J8 of the main power supply PCB?
Main heater: between J8-1 (FSR1) and J8-5 (FSR COM)
Sub heater: between J8-3 (FSR2) and J8-5 (FSR COM)
YES: The heater drive power supply is faulty. Replace the main power supply PCB.
NO: The thermistor control mechanism is faulty. Replace the DC controller PCB.
**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**
I wouldn't waste a lot of time on diagnosing that old fuser when it can be replaced very cheaply. Just get a rebuilt fuser from Fusion Image Technologies and be done with the issue. Teckat posted about them here ages ago and they are a good resource for affordable ready to go Canon fusers.

If you have replaced the fixing film, assy from Canon not just the film???
Also check the condition of the heat sink roller, however this is an old machine now, personally if my customers don't want to upgrade simply show them how to reset the error as I do.

Sounds to me like he replaced the film only. Problem wouldn't be the film but the element. Replace upper film assembly or the entire fuser unit.
If the entire film has been replaced and still getting an e000 I've seen relay 1 on the main ps pcb no longer function. It is triggered by 5V from the dcon.
Now i replace the fixing film assembly but error still comes back, when i try clear the error, the keys are not working. what can i do?
