    Imagepass-M3 Please connect Image runner

    Hi all,

We have just received an IR105 Printer and Imagepass-M3 from a supplier who no longer needs it.
I have connected everything up ( Including using a cross over cable from M3 to Printer)

Imagepass-M3 LCD screen just sits there displaying "Please connect imageRUNNER"
Connecting Imagepass to a Monitor shows linux screen sitting there displaying the following. (see attachment)
    LILO 22.2 Loading linux-ext2..................
    Uncompressing Linux...ok, booting to Kernel.

Doesn't boot any further than this.
I am ssuming that the M3 is failing to bootup fully ?

We no longer have the System Software CD in order to do a re-install.
Does anyone know where I can get hold of this software ?
Or am I missing something ?

    Thx,

    Ray,

Is the service mode COPIER>OPTION>INT-FACE>IMG–CONT set to "4" ?
Has the Network Interface Adapter been installed on the copier ?
Is there a dedicated, grounded electrical outlet near the copier for the iR-M3 ?
Is the network connection ready and tested for iR-M3 installation ?
Verify that the network is functioning before you attach the iR-M3:

You should not run the iR-M3 and the copier on the same circuit.

    Brilliant,
    Thx for your help..

I now have the M3 connected to the printer.
I cant make any changes to TCP/ip without a password.
Do you know if there is a default password ?
If not do you know how to reset to factory Defaults and so erasing current password ?

    Ray..

    I'm up and running.

Can you please answer another question.

Can the Printer be used on a windows print server (2003) without the need for the M3

Or is the M3 effectively giving the printer a network option.
ie: the network port on the printer is just a dump port

The M3 is giving the network connection.

The only other option is the network printer board kit for the 105.

Re: Imagepass-M3 Please connect Image runner

    Hiya again,

Do you know how to add email address to the Fiery address book ?
I have configured email setup on the M3 to relay to my email server IP.

I tried just browsing to the IP address of the printer to use webtools but I always get java blocked.
I think I need an old version of Java to run webtools?

I've also read that you can send and email to the Fiery email address with commands like #AddAddressTo Print?

I can't see how that would work unless the Printer itself was an email server..

    Any help appretiated.

    Ray..

Setting up email services on the imagePASS series

When the imageRUNNER is connected with an imagePASS controller, you have 2 options for setting up email services:

    1. Using the imagePASS's email capability
    - Enable and configure Email Services through Setup on the imagePASS and send email using the imagePASS's interface (select Scan Job option). This option will have access to the Fiery Address Book on the imagePASS. This method is what is further explained in this article.
    2. Using the optional Universal Send Kit - Must install the appropriate Universal Send Kit. Configure Email Services through Additional Functions, System Settings, Network Settings, E-mail/I-fax Settings on the copier LCD screen. You can send email using the Send tab on the copier LCD screen and the imagePASS will allow the email packets sent from the copier to pass through. This option will have access to the copier's Address Book.
Setting Up Email Services on the imagePASS:
In order to have E-mail and I-Fax capabilities, you must first enable E-mail Services at the imagePASS:

    1. Select Run Setup. Confirm that you wish to enter Setup mode by hitting Yes.
    2. Select Network Setup.
    3. Choose Service Setup.
    4. Hit Email Setup.
    5. For the 'Enable Email Services' prompt, select Yes.
    6. Follow the prompts, entering the required information to configure the email settings (see the attached PDF for more information).
    7. Save your changes and exit Setup mode.

This option enables the imagePASS to use Email or Internet Fax as a means of communication for a variety of purposes, including printing PostScript, PDF, and TIFF files, and sending scanned files as an outgoing Email or Internet Fax.

To Scan an Original and Send it as an Email using the imagePASS:

    1. Select Scan Job from the imagePASS menu
Load your original(s) in ADF or on platen glass.
    2. Hit Source and enter your desired settings:
      - Document Source (ADF or Platen)
      - Original Size
      - Orientation
      - Sides (Single or Duplex)
Press Image Options and enter your desired settings:
      - Color Mode (Color, Gray Scale, or Black and White)
      - Image Mode (Text, Image, or Text/Image)
      - Background Removal
      - Brightness
      - Resolution
      - Binding Direction (Left Side or Top Side)
    3. Hit Destination and select Add Destination.
    4. Choose Send to Email (this option will not be present if Email Services was not enabled in Setup).
    5. Press Select Address.

Pick New Address and manually enter the email address to send to, or pick Fiery Address Book to choose the email address to send to.
    6. Select Configure Email and enter your desired settings:
      - Send Doc As (Attachment or URL)
      - File Format (PDF, TIFF, or JPEG)
    7. Hit Start Scan.
    8. Enter the Filename.
    9. At the Start Scan Now prompt, select Yes (this will start the scanning of the send job).

    Managing address books
The E-mail Service feature allows an administrator to import a list of E-mail/Internet Fax addresses to the iR-M2. This is done by sending messages to the iR-M2/3 in e-mail form.
The list will be added to the Fiery Address Books, designed for use in sending scan files to a particular E-mail/Internet Fax address that the user chooses at the iR-M2/3 Control Panel and in controlling user access to E-mail Services.
NOTE: E-mail messages can be sent only from an administrator account.

The iR-M2/3 supports the following address books:

User—a generic address book used primarily for Scan to E-mail from the iR-M2/3 Control Panel. This address book is used for outgoing e-mail only.
Admin—includes users with administrative access. Administrative access allows you to modify the address book, get the current address book from the iR-M2/3, and cancel or status any print job.
Print—includes users who have print access. Only users whose e-mail addresses are in the Print address book are authorized to submit jobs via e-mail to the iR-M2/3.
Unauthorized users receive an e-mail reply that their job was not accepted by the iR-M2/3 for printing.
Fax—an address book used for Scan to Internet FAX. This address book is used for sending scan files via Internet FAX to the iR-M2/3. You cannot send an e-mail to the iR-M2/3.
E-mail Service also allows the administrator to overwrite the address book, append new addresses, remove addresses, and retrieve current addresses on the iR-M2/3.
