c5180 "Remove Paper From Output Tray" no finisher attached

c5180 stand alone machine no finisher gives the message, "Remove Paper From Output Tray". if you put a finisher on the machine it works great, take off the finisher we get the message on every copy. i though these machines only knew that a finisher was attached if one was plugged in. is there somewhere i have to turn off something for the finisher? thanks

Nothing for this model but..... you could see if any of thsi works

    Product : imageRUNNER C3200 / 3220 / 2620
    Finisher-F1 / N1, Saddle Finisher-F2 / N2
Title : The message 'Remove paper from the Output Tray' shows on the imageRUNNER Display Panel

    Problem :
The message "Remove paper from the Output Tray" shows on the imageRUNNER Display Panel. The message will clear but it will return when the next sheet is output from the imageRUNNER.

    Solution :
In service mode level 2 enter COPIER>OPTION>USER>TRY-STP and set it to "1", also perform the adjustment of the PS1, Height Sensor, on the Finisher found on page 7-1 in the Finisher-F1/N1, Saddle Finisher-F2/N2 service manual.

    Product : IMAGERUNNER C3100
Title : Remove Paper From Output Tray Message

    Problem :
There is a Copy Tray - J1 hooked up and you get a Remove Paper From Output Tray Massage.

    Solution :
    Do the following :
    1. Enter Service mode by *28*
    2. Hit Copier
    3. Hit Option
    4. Hit ACC
    5. Hit Out-Tray and set to a 1
    6. Hit the OK button
    7. Power the unit off/on with the main power switch on the right hand side of the unit.

that is the issue 95% of the time/

reason u don't receive when Finisher is attached, is paper exit path to finisher is different .

Center Delivery Tray Full Sensor is stuck or the sensor is inoperative. Check to be sure the actuator is moving freely and the sensor is operating properly.
