    Canon IR4570 with blank copies

I have a Canon IR4570 that doesn't get a lot of use and is in excellent shape. I was just out there last month and replaced the drum, feed rollers, heat sink cleaning roller & basically did a Mini PM on the copier. The machine has been working great and then suddenly this morning the customer was running some double sided copies and after about the first 10 to 15 pages the copies started coming out completely blank mid way thru the 30 copy run. She said the first pages looked great and then suddenly it stared spitting out blank pages until it was done with the run. She tried to run several more copies from the glass and they were also blank. I have not been to the machine yet due to their closing early on Mondays but thought I would see if anyone has had this issue before I head to them in the morning. I've had blank copies but never midway thru a copy run with nothing else happening to the machine. It's always been after someone removed a jam and didn't get things out back or closed properly.
    thanks in advance

    Hi,

seems strange alright half way thru a run, unless its a dev/drum issue? Does the machine have a DADF? When using the dadf, if the customer rests documents on the paper sensor flags on the dadf A4r and A3, when copying A4 it will spit out blanks.

    Hello,

The laser shutter is activated by the door opening/closing system. Open and verify the cable and the shutter movement.

Fyi, I went out to this call and could NEVER get the machine to make blank copies. Have a feeling the customer put their paper in the doc feeder the wrong way.
    Thanks for the advice

I'll second that. The laser shutter is operated by a wire rope linked to the right side door. If you remove the lower left side cover you can observe the operation of the laser shutter. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
