    Liquid for cleaning

What kind of liquid are you guys using for cleaning registration rollers ?

    Water - Degreaser ?

I have been using some kind of de-greaser for cleaning the registration front roller on a irac9060 but the customer is feeding mostly offset paper and I find myself doing frequent cleanings.

This is the roller I am talking aboutregistration roller.jpg

water. paper dust comes of the easiest with a microfibre cloth and plain water. Other places paraffin works well but dont use it on covers.

For anything rubber I'll use Contractors De-Solv-It orange oil based degreaser.
    Contractors' Solvent - De-Solv-it

It doesn't dry out rubber parts and does a passable job on plastic covers and matts.

For inked or dirty plastic covers I like Zep Fast505.
    Fast 505 Cleaner & Degreaser - Details

It works wonders on ink, toner and generally smudged covers. It's a little too sudzy for rubber rollers, but overall the two are interchangeable.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I used to use strong chemical cleaner in the past but my hands got messed up by it. For covers and glass i use windolene. Konica Minolta machines cleans up easily not like ricoh with that whitish covers.

Are you aware that reg assembly has been modified to prevent static buildup in low humidity environments
It now has black plastic guide sheet and a varistor

    I didn't know - Thanks man !

One thing it is confusing me though:

    Machine is "OLD TYPE" series.
    Except the guides
    - FL2-8700-000 Upper guide
    - FL2-8701-000 Lower guide

Do I have to order also the varistor (don't know the part number of it) ?

    Re: Liquid for cleaning

They just made the upper and lower available seperately, so I had been ordering the assembly, before that.
Assembly comes with varistor. So I would just order the assembly
I have not seen the varistor part no

Do you think there would be any problem if I order new assy on the "old type" machine?

    Also I see another problem.

On the European order page I see only FM3-4758-000 (old type)

    Re: Liquid for cleaning

FM3-4758-020 is the only part no for the assembly. It has been modified twice
it is specified for old style and new style.
i can't figure out why they have old style and new style upper and lower but one style complete assembly
