lines in sub-scan direction on C3380

    Hi guys,

I had a call on a c3380i for light prints for black only originally. all colors looked fine. Checked and found it was happening in different apps and also on internal prints so I cleaned laser and optics, itb contact plate and Adjusted density. Did auto calibration a few times and got the density back. However, I started getting lines in the subscan direction across the print. (See Test Print 10) Black drum changed approx 20k ago. I cleaned the paper path, ITB Belt cleaner, IBT and secondary transfer roller, fuser entrance and am still getting lines. I'm not sure if worn blade on drum or itb cleaner or a result of change in density. Any ideas on these lines? All comments appreciated,

Thanks Teckat. Is it chatter from the blade or needs to be coated with drum powder? Do these blades flip? I wiped it down twice w/ alcohol wipe and vacuumed out the feed screw tube. Thought that should be enough.

    ________÷)

The blade requires power, blade poses a flip issue on old ITB Units.
The part number for the ITB cleaning blade lubricant is TKN-0480-000.
Some techs use toner to coat blade edge, not me.

Thanks again, Teckat. I'll try that lubricant.

Try a history or p-print, if you get lines on the prints replace the black drum, they have a poor life on this model, from 80% they start to fail & leave lines on prints

Great call on this Copier Tech. I had replaced ITB cleaner with no improvement, so I tore apart the drum and found the drum blade caked with toner. Cleaned drum blade & primary transfer roller, wiped drum and dusted with drum powder, reassembled and tested. No more lines. Prints and copies good as new. Many Thanks for your response and insight on this model.
