Canon IR C4580 Red dots appearing.

I have red dots appearing 1.8" apart, what is the cause of them?

I know I could replace the magenta drum,
just want to know what is failing on the drum, and if there is a remedy.
    thanks all.

why are these red dots here.pdf

I cleaned the overflowing waste screw that was dumping onto secondary transfer roller,
but that was not the cause, I removed magenta drum, and found the dot that keeps repeating every revolution,
I wiped it clean, this did not solve the problem, the dot remains.

The dot are on the same spot ? Prob. a damage drum surface ? You could do a visual inspection of the drum roll ?

as previous post states, take out the magenta drum and take a look, looks like the drum to me, mite have a pitted mark on the drum, just replace the drum and see if mark goes away.

I know it is the drum, maybe I could put clear nail polish on it or some other sealer?
(I know lipstick will not work )
Has anyone tried anything like that?

You cannot charge nailpolish, so you will still have spots. Maybe white instead of red.....

    Just replace the drum...
