Arrow Image Quality Issues irc 33

    All,

I have a irC3380 which has image quality issues.

We have not used the machine in a long time and when we tried a copy half of the copy looks very light.

ITB is latched and looks goods. Black toner and drum changed.

It is possible that this machine was auto calibrated when the ITB was not fully latched.

Any thoughts as to what our next step should be?

Is there a method to fully calibrate the black exposure?

    Thanks in advance.

Your ITB needs to be inspected / just because it looks closed on this model does not mean an OK/ those lock levers are easily damaged---when u release lock levers> u need to grasp the Grips on either side to lift off/or replace ITB/ lifting by grabbing lock levers can cause damage & or warp unit

Stopped an image of a pg10 test print on the itb belt/ open ITB and check density> if good > u need to check the condition & contact position of bias tab on the front side of the secondary transfer roller and the bias tab on the ITB frame assembly.
    EXAMPLE PIC OF ROLLER
Also Check the secondary transfer roller rear bias contact > see if bent or damaged

example of a crack in tab

    to add on

Even when the lock lever (rear) [1] on the transfer H.V. PCB is locked and the lock lever (front) is unlocked, the process unit can be housed in the machine and become operable: however, if images are
output in this locking condition of the levers, a gap is provided between the drum and the intermediate transfer belt, causing light image.

    Also

Upon replacement to the new secondary transfer outer roller, attachment of the rubber component of the secondary transfer roller onto the ITB belt causes
    a white spot image.
In order to prevent this, at replacing the secondary transfer outer roller to the new one, coating of toner onto the surface of the roller is required.
When replacing the secondary transfer outer roller, execute the service mode below:
    - COPIER > FUNCTION > TNR-COAT
Coating of the Y toner onto the secondary transfer roller

Fixing Film Unit >>> inspected ?/ & how old ??

Sometimes a dirty Dust proofing Glass on the Laser will dramatically reduce Copy Quality. Here is a quick video of how to clean it.
This machine has 4 Lasers but usually the Black Laser is the one that gives most problems
