    Canon IRADVC2030 gives print error #858

    Customer is printing from a Windows 8 64 bit computer to an IRADVC2030 and after attempting to print a pdf file it is no longer able to
    print. The Status log shows sent print jobs are being received but are NG and show the error #858 (Problem with print
    data sent to the printer from an external application....Remedy Check the printer settings data of the external application
    sending the print job to the machine)

    I tried a test print from properties and same error. I deleted the printer and reloaded it with a new driver. Tried rebooting
    the computer. Same problem. Also rebooted the copier.

    All the other computers in the office print to the machine just fine. Seems to be a problem with their computer, but I wondered
    if anyone has ever heard of this. I have never seen this before.

    Are you using the UFRII driver and not a PCL. the UFRII is the default for CANON copiers PCL is an option you have to purchase.

    Hi,

    since all the other computers are working its safe to say there isn't a issue with the device. Unless you maintain their pc's i wouldn't get to involved in trying to figure out why the pc isn't printing. It could be anything from a virus to a corrupt file system, I would ask their I.T guys to have a look at the pc in question.

    Hi, we also got the same problem with Canon IR-ADV C5250 on one particular Windows 8.1 (64bit) computer. We can only print simple text "Hello World!!" from MS Word. Other complex print out will get Error #858 including the test page.

    I wonder if it is related any recently updates for Windows. Any advices here? Thanks!

    I further tested the copier with my laptop and it printed fine. I disconnected the machine from the network and cabled
    it directly to the computer and it did the same thing. I did some searching and found that some people solved this problem
    by doing a registry cleaning. I will leave that to the "Geek Squad".
