Scan to Email with Office 365

    Guys,

Quick heads up, can't see if this has been posted on here before. I have found a working method of getting scan to email set up by using the MX records on the customer's domain.

If you do a search for the customer's domain on the following site:

    https://www.websense.com/content/mxrecordchecker.aspx

For instance the customer's domain is google.com. The MX record will return as google-com.mail.protection.outlook.com. Input that into your machine using port 25 and no authentication and voila! Scan to email works.

One down side - the customer can only scan to addresses within their own domain.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Have you deleted the certificate on the machine and tried an office 365 account with authentication. Ones you have have access to the customer portal it's easy. or use the info@ or admin@ account.
    Whatever

I've only been involved with 2 upgrades. What I found works is:

mail.messaging.microsoft.com on port 25 with no authentication

It will only send within the customer's domain, but they both were having so many headaches with the rest of the upgrade that they thought that was awesome.

I tried that with a customer a couple of years ago and all of a sudden it stopped working. I used the MX record trick and it suddenly started again. How random.

I don't know if this revalent to this discussion or not, but I saw that in the SMTP settings for the reply email address it must be preceded with a < and ending with >.
