Can someone in very simple terms tell me how to setup the shared folder on a MAC to scan SMB if possible? I can do windows all day long, no problem.
Thanks

What OS version on the MAC?
What make and model MFP?
What firmware version(s) on the MFP?
Don't know the MAC info, all different laptops. The machine is a MPC3502. Latest fw.
it sucks. the older OSs relied on FTP (just go to sharing, find the folder and use the FTP protocol) but I believe this required IP not hostname so that has it's own difficulties. Then Mac dropped FTP and allowed SMB but it rarely rarely ever works for me, at least. Get them to use gmail.
Printing Scanning MAC.pdf
This is a good document that addresses MAC printing and scanning. It is a few OS's behind, but the principles are the same. With newer OS's you can usually get your point across to the IT rep with this document. If I can find something newer that includes Yosemite I'll post it.
BTW..We all have felt like a fish out of water when it comes to MACs...The only thing that makes it easier is exposure and repetition. I can go 6 months without a MAC job, then I get 3 in a row and it starts to come back...Emujo
If you don't see your question answered in the forum, please don't think it's OK to PM me for a personal reply...I do not give out firmware and/or manuals.
Here is a thread concerning scanning to MAC with the MP C4500:

Firmwares HERE.OK Google! ... will I need Berrocca this morning?
SOLVED: Updated the fw with the custom version and it scans.
Here is a document I found very helpful for Mac environment.
